Synopsis

When Georgia Kentley breaks up with her long-term boyfriend Darren over Christmas, she really can’t wait to return to work on the 27th of December.

The excitement dies when she meets her new boss, Walker Trent. DCI Trent is a misogynistic pain in the arse. Being a young police officer, Georgia has met her fair share of men who don’t understand that she can hold her own. Every single time she has proven them wrong.

Will she be able to prove to Walker Trent just how capable she is or will she get herself into a heap of trouble, danger and chaos? And when chaos ensues who will be there to save her?

my review

«I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review.»

To be honest, I never thought I would be into crime fictions in my life. It’s well know that I love the militaty novels but crime? Well, after finishing Inescapable Fate, it’s obvious that they appeal to me as well; as fast as there is some romance involved.

Hanleigh Bradley is a new to me author and her book Inescapable Fate is the first book I read by her. There are many things to say about the author’s writing skills; like that her plot grabbed my interest from the beginning. After that, it was inevitable to put my Kindle down. I was hooked and keen to find out what would happen next. For me, when a story keeps the reader’s full attention until the end is what makes it a great story! (among other reasons, of course)

So, let’s make a small sum about what is going on in the story. I promise you not to reveal much. Georgia Kentley is the youngest Detective Sergeant in Scotland Yard and daughter of the Detective Chief Superintendent. When her long-term boyfriend broke up with her, the only thing she wanted was to be back on action. At work, however, a new transfer on her department didn’t helped her feel better. She had once again to prove herself in the eyes of DCI Walker Trent. He’s presence, tho, didn’t had the power to change Georgia’s working methods, only to often irritate her. This year, Georgia’s unknown past made her the target of a madman. Despite that she had finally found someone to trust her life, Georgia had once again wanted not to be saved…

Intelligently written, beautifully evocative with vibrant emotions and suspenseful plot Inescapable Fate is a story I’m glad that I had the chance to read it. The author does a great job of encompassing mystery, thriller, suspense and intimate scenes. The same goes with the romance. Is nothing like I used to see in the stories I so far have read. The characters are all incredible! Written with much care and love and it shows. They are brutal, witty, honest, hateful, thoughtful, protecting, loving, a perfect combination to the plot. Although the story ends with a cliffhanger it clearly promises the continue of the series to be much more intriguing than the first one.

I hope I intrigued your imagination a little and make you grab the book, finding out what’s really happening because there is no way to tell you myself.

Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.
