Book One in the Consolation Duet

Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.

But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.

One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.

What a consolation from someone, will give you on the hardest moment of your life? Self stability and courage? Maybe anger and despair? Or the kind of true love that you wouldn’t ever expect it might happen to you? Well, on Natalie’s story, each one of those feelings shown their faces as naturaly as they might ever been in real life.

Being married with Aaron, a former Navy Seal who was on a mission at the time, Natalie prepared the nursery room for their daughter’s arriving. It was her mission to have everything ready. She’s been in cloud nine and couldn’t wait for the moment their family to be complited. They both wanted it so much. Until the unwelcome knock on the door came that moment, and everything in her life fell apart and stopped moving. Aaron, the only man she ever had in her life, her sixteen love affair and then her husband, is dead. The fear that every military wife has every time her husband is going for a mission, is now on her door, infrond of her. Her twenty seven years old life, is not going to be the same any more!

Inside the walls she created, she feels hate, she feels alone, she is shattered pieces but she made a promise at herself, to stop feel sorrow and start living and being strong for her precious daughter, Aarabelle. Family and friends stay close and tryed to help the first few months but this made her anger to grow. Her closer friend, Reanell, was there to balance Natalie’s mood with not much success but she supported her and helped her like a sister and Natalie was thankfull that she had Reanell in her life. I truly love Reanell and I wish I could have a friend like her in my life. She was the realistic, sarcastic and yet the light way in Natalie’s life.

Everything was going “fine” after three months, of Aaron’s death, at Natalie’s life, until an old friend of the couple came to town and stop by to see her. Liam was Aaron’s best friend, a Navy Seal as Aaron, knowing Natalie so many years. She was his best friend too. They both lost someone they love very very much, and he wanted to help her and Aarabelle in every way. So he did!

Been close with Liam, almost every day the first few weeks, when he came back home, was a welcome change for Natalie. However, Liam knew her well and when ever he tryed to brake some of her walls and make her open up to him, he find himself carring for her more it was acceptable and that feeling scared him. The same battle was in Natalie’s mind, after she acknowlenge the way she was feeling when she was near Liam. He gave her strength, happyness, confidence and most of all, he calmed her spirit. Plus he was hot and tender at the same time. But is was ok to start something after you lost your loving husband?

Terrible news came to Natalie the time she was started to adjust her mind about the relationship she was started to have with Liam. News that crushed her heart and
woman confidence again. Is that the way she wanted to think for herself or to keep trying for her happiness? Liam was her happiness! She never felt like this even when she was with Aaron. They were so naturaly combined and this time she wanted it to last…But fate has others things in mind…

Yeap! It has a cliffhanger alright! But you won’t be hanged more bacause the second book is online too and has 5⭐ on it!.. Personaly I’m speechless, I can talk about the book for hours but I can’t describe the so many emotions I feel right now. I can say that I cried a lot, almost all the time, I laugh so much with their dialogs, got angry with life itself and it’s mysteries, but most of all I fell in love with the two main characters. I could be so easy connected with Natalie all the way into the story. And Liam was so affective and caring and sweet talking to her. He was so easy to love him too. Korinne Michaels made it so easy! Her bright mind, create a warmth atmosphere into a hard to cope situation. All I could feel was their unspocken connection from the start, their mutual need for each other, their pure love, there are so many feeling that a great mind can only capture in a book. And when a tale gives you so many feelings then it’s a great book to read. Korinne’s writing has no flaw, it’s only emotional, witty, sarcastic and funny, as Korinne Michaels is! An intrigue combination which I love and enjoy. Couldn’t put it down and maybe it was one of the few books that I start and read it in the same day. Page-turning my friend!!!

If I helped you, then go grab your copy, lay comfortable and enjoy reading it! Next one will wait for you too…
